Holding Space for Grief

Grief is one of those experiences that touches us all at some point throughout our lives. It can be quiet or overwhelming, expected or completely unexpected. And sometimes, the best thing we can do is simply hold space for it.

There Is No Timeline, Only Love
There is no right way to grieve - no steps to follow, no checklist, no moment when you are supposed to feel ‘better’ or ‘fixed’. There is nothing to fix and nowhere you are supposed to arrive. Grief is simply a reflection of love.

Grief Comes in Waves
It can look different for everyone, and different from one moment to the next. Making space for grief doesn't mean choosing one emotion and staying there. It means allowing room for all of it - the sadness, anger, guilt, even moments of joy and laughter that may come up. One feeling doesn't cancel out another. There is room for all of it. Let the tears come. Let yourself laugh. Let yourself rest. Let yourself have a moment where you don't think about it at all.

Grief Connects Us
Grief is deeply personal, yet it can connect us in ways we don't expect. It reminds us that we are human, that we love, that we lose, and that we need each other. When someone leaves this world, we are reminded just how many lives one person can touch, and how far the impact of a single life can reach. It can also connect us to the divine and spiritual world - to something we may not be able to explain but may simply feel.

Seeking Support
Taking care of yourself in small, simple ways during this time can look like eating something warm, letting yourself rest, taking a shower or stepping outside for some fresh air. And you dont have to go through grief alone. Calling a friend, sitting quietly with someone you trust, or letting someone take care of you for a little can be a meaningful place to start. If you feel you need additional support, a licensed therapist can create a safe space to talk, process, and simply be with whatever you're carrying.

There is no right way to grieve. Be gentle with yourself. You are not alone.
